We have an ambitious mission: to accelerate the coffee industry's transition to sustainable energy. We're excited to take you behind the scenes of our plans, and share our vision of the future.
Step 1: Roast, Package, and Sell Sustainably
Our journey started with a simple yet powerful idea: to make coffee better, not just in taste but also for the planet. We source coffee beans from around the world, taking great care to ensure that our suppliers are as committed to sustainability as we are.
Then comes roasting. We eschew traditional drum roasting, which uses natural gas, and instead use an electric roaster that runs solely on electricity. This small yet significant switch reduces our CO2E emissions by a staggering 80% compared to some of the most fuel-efficient traditional roasters.
Every dollar we earn from our sales has a purpose beyond immediate gain. They are reinvested back into our business, allowing us to diversify our future offerings with products like KCups, instant coffee, and cold brew cans. Moreover, by purchasing in larger quantities, we not only reduce our expenses but also maximize our returns, ensuring that we have ample resources to further our mission and vision.
Step 2: Project Kestrel – Revolutionizing Coffee Roasting

Step 2: Project Kestrel – Revolutionizing Coffee Roasting
Project
Through Project Kestrel, we aim to revolutionize the coffee roasting process. This endeavor is set to produce a fully electric industrial-sized roaster - a feat no other manufacturer has accomplished. Designed to handle 70kg+ of coffee in one go, this roaster will significantly outperform our current 10-pound machine in efficiency.
Project
Project Kestrel will be our catalyst for rapid scaling, while simultaneously driving forward innovation in the coffee roasting industry. Using AI, the roaster will be able to track each roast, learn from every cycle, and refine subsequent roasts. The roaster will also feature an integrated carbon sequestration system to capture CO2 emissions during roasting, drastically reducing our carbon footprint.
Project
While this roaster will play a pivotal role internally, we also plan to make it available to other coffee companies. This way, we’re not just elevating our own processes; we’re also helping other coffee roasters become more sustainable.
Step 3: Project Falcon – Redefining Coffee Production
Project
Project Falcon takes the advancements of Project Kestrel and applies them on a much grander scale. We're not merely looking to change the way we roast coffee; we aim to revolutionize the entire production process.
Project
Imagine a facility: fully-vertically-integrated and carbon-neutral, where not only coffee is roasted, packaged, and shipped, but even the constituent components of the roaster, and all the essentials for creating our coffee are produced under one roof. And we're committed to building this facility right here in Rhode Island.
Project
This integration goes beyond mere efficiency. By streamlining our entire process, we achieve economies of scale faster and more seamlessly than other coffee companies, enabling us to offer greater savings to our customers. Beyond that, it’s about quality, consistency, and sustainability. Having control over every stage of production, down to the materials we use, ensures that every facet of our business aligns seamlessly with our core value: sustainability.
So, that's our master plan. We're roasting, packaging, and selling coffee now, but we're investing our profits in our future projects. The development of Project Kestrel, the construction of the Project Falcon facility aren't just steps in our business plan, they are pivotal landmarks in our journey for a new era of coffee sustainability. While we haven't revealed all the intricacies, each initiative is a purposeful step towards ensuring a greener coffee future.
